This collection presents a curated selection of hand-knotted rugs by Calle Henzel, shown alongside exhibited works from the Henzel Studio Collaborations program — each featured during MiArt and Salone del Mobile.
Marking over a decade of exhibitions in Milan, the collection includes key designs from Calle Henzel’s signature collections: Diamond Dust, Frozen Cut, Aura Patina, Largo Isarco, Night Editions, Chiaroscuro, and Le Météore de la Nuit. Blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary sensibilities, the rugs redefine the medium as a dynamic art object — capable of transforming space through conceptual and material depth. Grounded in Henzel’s distinctive visual language, each piece is both tactile and conceptual. All designs are fully customizable.

Andy Warhol, Vanessa Beecroft, Olaf Breuning, Helmut Lang, Mickalene Thomas, John Waters, Tom Hegen, Jwan Yosef and Anselm Reyle
In addition to Henzel’s own designs, the collection features a selection of rugs conceived by invited artists as part of the Henzel Studio Collaborations program. Contributors include Helmut Lang, Mickalene Thomas, John Waters, and Anselm Reyle, among others — each bringing a distinct visual and conceptual sensibility to the medium. Developed through a collaborative process, these works preserve the essence of each artist’s practice while embracing the technical and material possibilities of hand-knotted rugs. From Lang’s minimalist constructions and Thomas’s bold explorations of identity, to Waters’ subversive narratives and Reyle’s experimental surfaces, the resulting pieces blur the lines between fine art and functional object.
Presented throughout Milan over the past decade, these artist-designed works reinforce the collection’s curatorial framework, which centers on artistic integrity, material innovation, and cross-disciplinary exchange. By positioning rugs as carriers of contemporary ideas, the Milan (2010–2025) collection affirms Henzel Studio’s commitment to redefining textile as a vital form within the language of contemporary art and design.

Imperfettogallery / Sodalizi Temporanei & Carlocinque Gallery
Imperfettogallery’s exhibition explored a dynamic dialogue between Verter & Erich Turroni and Calle Henzel, where handmade artistry and sculptural forms converged in an investigation of materiality and scale. A rug by Jwan Yosef from the Henzel Studio Collaborations was also showcased, presented in conversation with the exhibition.
At Carlocinque Gallery in Brera, the exhibition featured limited-edition rugs by Anselm Reyle and Calle Henzel, alongside curated pieces from Imperfettolab’s new collection — a refined exploration of contemporary design where craftsmanship and art intersect.
