RICHARD PRINCE, 1967, 2013 / 2026
Edition of 20 + 1 AP
Numbered
Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity
Hand knotted
Linen, lyocell, wool & silk blend, and silk
Henzel Studio presents the second work developed by Richard Prince in collaboration with Henzel, following 1234-5678-910 (2013 / 2026).
Based on a work on paper produced in 2013 exclusively for Henzel Studio, the composition assembles fragmented images of American football players’ backs, with the number 1967 repeated across the surface as a continuous, shifting field. Cuts and surface marks from the original are preserved and translated into the rug through variations in pile height and carved relief.
The work is part of Henzel Studio’s ongoing collaboration program, curated by Joakim Andreasson, which engages contemporary artists in translating their visual language into textile form.
