The Studio Edit

Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner

Henzel Studio is honored to collaborate with the Pollock-Krasner Foundation on an original collection of hand-knotted textile works inspired by the artistic legacies of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner. Both artists transformed the language of abstraction through distinct approaches to gesture, material, structure and reinvention. The collaboration explores how their visual languages can be interpreted through texture, pile, carving and construction, extending their artistic legacies into the field of collectible design. The inaugural collection will be introduced in Spring 2027. Email info@henzelstudio.com or send us a DM to join the priority reservation list and receive first access to the limited-edition works before the public release.

Henzel Studio presents a new collaboration with Richard Prince at Imperfettogallery

Henzel Studio returns to Imperfettogallery, for Sodalizi Temporanei, opening Monday, 20 April during Milan Design Week 2026. On the occasion of the exhibition, Henzel Studio presents the launch of RICHARD PRINCE, 1967, a work conceived by the artist in 2013 and now, thirteen years later, introduced for the first time as a hand-knotted rug in an edition of 20. This release follows the studio’s first collaboration with Richard Prince, 1234-5678-910, presented in 2013, and marks a continued dialogue between contemporary artistic practice and textile form.

Henzel x Warhol

Henzel Studio Heritage: Andy Warhol is a limited-edition collection of art rugs created in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, marking ten years of partnership. Each rug translates Warhol’s iconic imagery —whether vibrant or in black and white —into tactile, hand-knotted works of art. This decade-long collaboration merges Warhol’s experimental spirit with Henzel Studio’s dedication to craftsmanship, material integrity, and lasting design. The collection offers collectors and art lovers a unique way to experience Warhol’s visual language, bridging contemporary art and functional, collectible rugs.

Marking Over a Decade of Exhibitions in Milan

This collection features hand-knotted rugs by Calle Henzel alongside works from the Henzel Studio Collaborations program, previously shown at MiArt and Salone del Mobile. Combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary vision, the rugs transform space as dynamic art objects. In addition to Henzel’s designs, the collection includes collaborations with artists such as Helmut Lang, Mickalene Thomas, John Waters, and Anselm Reyle, preserving each artist’s essence while exploring the possibilities of hand-knotting.

Henzel Studio x Carsten Höller

Carsten Höller creates mushroom-inspired works to explore altered states of perception, the dualities of nature—both harmless and toxic—and the intersection of science and art. Drawing on his scientific training, Höller has long been fascinated by fungi, particularly the psychedelic Amanita muscaria, which he transforms into sculptural “confusion machines” that challenge perception and spark curiosity. For Henzel Studio, Höller has translated this ethos into the Mushroom Rug, a limited-edition hand-knotted piece that brings the whimsical and transformative qualities of his sculptural mushrooms into a tactile, functional form. The rug invites viewers to engage with space, texture, and color in a way that blurs the boundaries between art, design, and experience.

Palazzo — Punk, Patina & Pressure

In Palazzo, Henzel approaches the historical rug as material under pressure, not an object of preservation. Classical patterns are cut, sanded, washed, stained, and weathered—pushing the rug from decoration into a sculptural field shaped by force and time.
