Care Instructions
Each hand-knotted rug is individually made using carefully selected fibres and traditional techniques. Variations in texture, pile direction, colour movement and surface character are inherent to the making process and form part of the work’s identity. With proper care, a hand-knotted rug will age beautifully, retaining its character, depth and integrity for generations.
Vacuum regularly using a moderate suction setting, always in the direction of the pile. Do not use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar, rotating brush or spinning brush head, as this may abrade the surface and damage delicate fibres such as silk, bamboo silk, viscose or lyocell. A handmade rug may naturally release surplus fibres, particularly when new. Small threads may also appear on the surface or along the edges over time; this is normal and is not considered a manufacturing defect. Do not pull loose threads. Carefully trim them level with the pile using sharp scissors.
Rotate the rug periodically to balance natural wear, light exposure and changes in pile direction.
