Assume Vivid Astro Focus is a collective formed in 2001 in New York City. It consists of Eli Sudbrack (Brazilian, b.1968) and Christophe Hamaide-Pierson (French, b.1973). Fusing drawing, sculpture, collage, video, music, and performance, 'AVAF' creates immersive spaces expressive of a lust for life. For HENZEL STUDIO Assume Vivid Astro Focus re-appropriated one of their paintings made on corrugated kraft paper. AVAF has had solo shows at major institutions such as Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow and Casa Triângulo, São Paulo. Collected by Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York.
