WARHOL x HENZEL AT MOHD MILAN & CATANIA IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE EXHIBITION 'ANDY WARHOL: THE ADVERTISING OF FORM' AT FABBRICA DEL VAPORE, MILAN
We are pleased to present a display of Andy Warhol carpets designed in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation of Visual Arts at Mohd Gallery (Milan), timed to coincide with the exhibition Andy Warhol: The Advertising of Form on view at Fabrica del Vapore (Milan). Designed in 2015, the hand knotted carpets bring to light one of Warhol’s most obscure works, while paying homage to his most iconic and popular subject; Marilyn Monroe. Designed by Calle Henzel and curated by Joakim Andreasson. The collection is part of our Henzel Studio Heritage program; collections of carpets designed in collaboration with foundations and estates of the most prominent artists of the 20th century, which to date also includes Richard Bernstein, Tom of Finland and Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd.
Also on view at Mohd’s location in Catania is our award winning carpet Oxidation Painting (02) (1978 / 2021), part of our second collection designed after Andy Warhol’s Oxidation Paintings in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation of Visual Arts.
