FRIEZE LONDON: WORLDWIDE DEBUT / HENZEL STUDIO X TOM HEGEN
Henzel Studio is pleased to present Tom Hegen. Hegen was born in Königsbrunn, Bavaria, in 1991, he has been specialising in aerial photography for many years. To Hegen, aerial photography is the only possible medium that can simultaneously portray our civilization and pay tribute to our planet. The hand-knotted piece, part of Henzel's A/CH program, is based on Hegen’s photograph featuring The Shark Bay peninsula (2019), located in Western Australia. The design is freeform with variable pile heights to replicate the dynamic landscape, exclusive material choices increase the contrast between the different parts of nature.

Worldwide debut at FRIEZE London No.9 Cork Street. Presented by Ulysses de Santi and included in the exhibition Modernismo Brasil.

Hegen's work has already been recognised with numerous renowned awards, including the International Photography Award and the Leica Oscar Barnack Award. His first book, titled “Habitat”, was published in 2018; and was followed, in 2019, by “Aerial Observations on Airports”. Hegen lives in Munich.
